GISBORNE LAND CASE

JUDGMENT FOB DEFENDANT. (Per Press Association). * WELLINGTON, March 6. The Gisborne Land case, Natana Te Kawe, of Fraserton (plaintiff), and E. C. Lewey (Stipendiary Magistrate at Gisborne), and Dora Devery, a dispute as to agreement for the payment of interest, etc., Mr Myers, K.C., for the defendants, contended that the proper remedy had not been taken. If there was any remedy it Was not by way of prohibition, but by appeal. This view was upheld by the Chief Justice, who gave judgment for defendant.
