QUESTION IN THE COMMONS £150,000 LIABILITIES INCURRED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. —Copyright. Received January 18, 10.55 p.m. LONDON, Jan. 17. In the House of Commons, in reply to a question relative to Singapore Base, Colonel Amery said preliminary work had been begun. The actual work so far done was not great, but liabilities of about £150,000 had been incurred. The land had been provided free of cost by the generosity of the colony. It was proposed to carry out the principal works by contract.
