RAPANII NOTES
(From Our Own Correspondent). A very pleasant function took place at the Rapanui Public Hall recently, the occasion being a farewell and gift afternoon to Miss Clara Rhodes on her approaching marriage. Many friends and acquaintances met there to show appreciation of the guest’s popularity, and many and useful were the gifts brought, and which occupied a spacious part of the hall. The afternoon was spent in friendly intercourse, with music, competitions, etc. A delightful afternoon tea was provided by Miss Rhodes’ many friends, whiejj. was highly appreciated, and after partaking of the refreshments those present wished the bride-to-be the best of luck for her future happiness; the best of good feeling went with her from her many friends of the district. Miss Rhodes thanked all those present for the many gifts, and stated that she appreciated very much the kindness of the folk she would long remember.
