In another column will be found an advertisement relating to a sale of land on the No. 1. Line between Wanganui and Wangaehu, by Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co. Ltd. 11 is not often that land of this quality oxi a main road is offered for sale by public auction and thb» sale should attract a considerable number of buyers. The advertisement sets out short particulars concerning each of the sections. First on the list, consisting of 181 acres, would make an ideal little mixed farm particularly for anyone with a bush place who wishes to have a small property nearer civilisation. This residence lends itself also to the purpose of a town man desiring a country residence as it is only seven miles from Wanganui and can be turned into a beautiful property. Section 2—79 acres. —This is a beautiful little property for a dairy man, comprising as it does about 42 acres of undoubtedly the best flat land on this coast, a portion of the famous Wangaehu flats. This flat was once swamp but has been properly drained, and if these drains are attended to there is no risk of flooding at any time. The balance of this section is divided from the flat by the railway line and the portion lying on the Wanganui side of the line is all hITTy. A good homestead can be made on a portion of this hilly country, if necessary. The third property, consisting of 442 acres, is situated about 7 miles from Wanganui and is directly opposite Mr. H. E. Blyth’s section of 181 acres, mentioned as Section 1. This property varies in quality from heavy clay land suitable for all kinds of cropping to light sandy country which is very warm in the winter time, and offers a splendid run off for stock being run on the turnips. Buyers will note that the sale is on the 15th. January and that pegsession can be given about the Ist. February 1924.
