THE “ALL BLACKS ’ SCOTTISH I Ni(>.\ DECLINED MATCHES LONDON, Dec. 20. The Scottish Rugby Union ’s action in declining, without giving reasons, the invitation by the English Union to allot fixtures in Scotland tu the All Blacks has aroused much resentment in British rugby* circles. Mr. Cecil Wray, inter viewed, stated that the subcommittee Appointed by the English I nion in July invited the Scottish. Irish. Welsh, and French Unions to say whether they would like matches with the New Zealanders allotted them. Mr. Wray, who was chairman of the sur-eommittee. states with the exception of Scotland all replied favourably and secured matches. The secretary* of the Scottish Union delayed writing until ’he 31st of August, when he replied: “Mv emergenqy committee decided that, so far as they arc concerned, they* do not wish any matches with ih- New Zealanders to be allotted to the Scottish Union.”
