Present indications are for moderate to strong west to southerly winds, and weather fair to cloudy generally, but squally and changeable at times southward of Cook Strait. Barometer has a rising tendency. KISMET WRAGGE’S REPORTS, (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Dec. 21. Forecast to January 9th. —it new Antarctic disturbance, Craccis, now operates over the entire Dominion. Unsettled rainy conditions are yet likely, especially in central high country under northerly to W.S.W. winds, matters shortly improving in response to the advent of a high pressure system from high latitudes on the Tasman Sea, resulting in moderately fair weather ruling over Christmas in the southern Taranaki and Rangitikei plains districts, but somewhat unsettled at times elsewhere. As December draws to a close, matters should become much more stable generally, with a renewal of dry hot conditions and winds from between S.W.S. and E.S.E. A new Antarctic disturbance named Homines, due early in January, should yield slight precipitation under northerly to W.N.W. winds, but conditions again becoming fine and dry as the period expires. Sea roughish. to moderate. [The above forecast was made specially by Mr Kismet Wragge, F.R.Met.S., for the area of which Wanganui is the centre.]
