The Bainfield Romney Stud was established in 1905 with the best available blood, and has been built up and developed regardless of expense. The sheep are bred in an environment en dowing them with great constitutions, and the best of feet. A very severe annual culling has been maintained, and the rams used in later years were largely bred at Waiorongomai, so that the quality of the flock is an unusually high one, and practically every stud in the Dominion would benefit by the introduction of Bainfield bred rams or ewes. Stock bred in so high quality a stud and in such a severe climate are bound to be improvers. No pampering has been practised, showing having been cut out some years ago to avoid this, but at the recent Southland Show many honours were won by Bainfield bred sheep or their immediate progeny. Sheep purchased will be put on trucks, or on steamer Bluff, free of charge, and special arrangements have been made to give a prompt delivery.
