“Inflamaion of he eyes is often treated at home by such remedies as tea-leat poultices and milk,” remarked Dr. E. L. Marchant to Senior Cadets at the Community Club in Wellington. “A much better application is common salt at the rate of a level tqaspoonful in a pint ot warm water. 'This is an efficient cleanser and has no bad points. Boracic acid is much used, but with some people it is irritating, whereas salt never is. This condition of inflamation is often brought about by wiping the eyes with a handkerchief. This article must always be full ot microbes after it has been used, and should never be used as an eyeduster. Inflamation should not be allowed to remain untreated, so consult a doctor as soon as possible.”
