MARTON NOTES
KANGITIKEI KUGBY UNION. RANGITIKEI V. OROUA REPS. The Oroua touring team arrives a; Marton on Monday from Wanganu:, and after lunch will be motored through to Sandon, where they play Te Kawau during the afternoon. On Wednesday, Oroua play Rangitikei on the Marton Park. The Rangitiki team will be without the services of the members of the Union touring with the Wanganui team, but the side selected is a fairly good one, and a good game may be expected. It is hoped that there ;vill be a big attendance of the public in order to “boost” along the good old game of Rugby. Special care has been taken in preparing the Park for the forthcoming representative matches. Ona of the Union’s chief objects this season is to place the Union on a better financial footing, and it is pleasing to record that this object is being attained. During August three representative matches will be played at Marton, also the junior seven-asid« tournament. At Bulls on Saturday 2 sth August, the Bailey 'seven-aside senior tournament will be held, which is open to all members of affiliated clubs to unions in this district.
