NO IMPROVEMIIXT IX i'TAGA. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Ju y 10. The influenza position has not im* proved, in fact it may be said to be a little worse. The number ot notifications for ihe 21 hours ended noon to-day were: Otago, 5. Southland, 3; Wallace, 2. There was one death on Monday. Th® Government Department is seriously hampered, though the municipal staffs have been more iortunate. Warehouses are not as badly affected as factories, in which the absence of men who are the connecting links is causing much disorganisation. All city primary schools are keeping open, but somg in the country Gave closed. The re-opening of the Boys’ High School has been postponed for another day. PREVALENCE IN TIMARC. (Per Press Association.) TIMARDU, -Inly 10 A mild form of influenza is very prevalent amongst schorl children in Timaru, sb much so that the Boys’ High School was close.l at noon to-day till Monday next, lheie were n hundred .-.bsentees, twenty being hoarders. In the Girls’ High School ihe absentecii were about ]0 per cent., but it was not considered necessary to close. Timaru Main (Primary) had 105 off yesterday, but was slightly better to-day. town schools have experienced the epidemic to a much less degree.
