(Per Press Association.) OPOTIKI, July 10. The construction of a railway befv.een Awaken and Taneatua is pro- < ceding satisfactorily. Steam shovels ■ire working at high pressure and survey ot the route between Waimana and Opotiki has been commenced. A survey party is encamped at Kutarere. After completing the survey between Wai ■ inana and Kutarere, and commencing a survey towards Opotiki, the smvey party will probably shift camp to Opriilri to complete tho survey from h*r.t of the highways district number th:on, which comprises the counties of Opotiki, Whakatano. Tauranga, Rotorua, md part of Taupo county. A con forcin'* of chairmen and engineers of th <our.ties concerned will be held at le Puke at an early date.
