FRANCE’S MEMORIAL

TO AMERICAN VOLUNTEERS.

PARIS, July 4. President Millerand and Generals Foch, Petain, and Joffre attended the inauguration of a memorial to American volunteers who served in the war. All Paris school children assembled round the memorial. M. Poincare and General Mangin spoke, and the American Ambassador replied.

WILL YOU?

FRANCE QUESTIONS AMERICA

Received July 5, 7.30 p.m. PARIS, July 4. M. Poincare, in the course of his speech, addressed several questions, to America. He said: "After having helped to save innocent countries from-the talons of Germany, will.you reward with indulgence a Germany that is trying to reverse the verdict of victory and ruin the peoples whose districts are devastated? Will you leave the work not only unfinished, but to be spoilt and scoffed at? Will you stand by and be content to waten with cold serenity this spectacle of iniquity?”
