THEIR RELEASE DEMANDED WASHINGTON, May 28. The petition of fcrty-eiglit prominent Americans, including; five State Governors, has been forwarded to President Harding urging the release of all persons serving prison sentences for ]x>litical offences committed during the war. The petition points out that the belief is prevalent that the United States should not stoop to the methods of old world despotism in suppressing free speech.
