STOCK SALES

Levin and Co., Ltd., report of ■stock sales for the week ending May -'o, 1923. At Bulls on Monday there was a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Sheep sold freely under good competition. Cattle sold al late rates. Quotations: Small empty two-tooth ewes, Lincoln cross, 184 at 24s 9d, 103 at 225; small Lincoln cross, two-tooth wethers, 60 at 23s 4d; fair Romney two-tooth wethers, 25 at 27s 3d; empty four and six-tooth ewes, 66 at 20s 7d; fat and forward b.f. two-tooths, 16 at 20s; shorn b.f. lambs, 32 at ISs 10d. 6 at 14s, 2 at 18s 9d; good woolly w.f. lambs, 51 at 21s 4d; light fat cows. £3 13s; Jersey cross weaner heifers, £4; S.H. cross weaner heifers, £2, £2 ss, £2 7s 6d; S.H. springing two-year heifers, £4 7s 6d. -It Feilding on Friday we had a good yarding of sheep and a medium one ot cattle. All classes of sheep were in good demand and a brisk sale resulted. Lambs were keenly sought after and the better class pens show a decided rise on late quotations. The dairy cattie yard ed were chiefly cows, which met with dull sale. Stores were dull of sale, though the bulk of our yarding changed hands. Quotations: Good condition woolly wether lambs, 123 at 23s 9d, 16 at 19s 6d; good condition shorn wether lambs, 99 at 22s 2d; small b.f. two-tooths, 40 at 235; empty f and f ewes, 17 at 18s Bd, 12 at 18s Bd, 15 at 15s; light fat ewes, 9 at 20s Bd, 8 at 22s 6d, 81 at 20s, 31 at 235; good b.f. twotooth wethers, 22 at 295; Lincoln cross ni.a. ewes, r.w. S.D. rams. 54 at. 255, 49 at 19s 6d; heifer in milk, £2; cow in milk, £5; springing S.H. heifers, £4; weaner heifers £3 16s, 355, 255, 28s, 30s, 10s; weaner steers 28s; empty cows 365, 37s 6d; S.H. cross Hereford b.f. weaker steers, 29 at £2 6s, 9 at £2; Hereford fat cows, £4 4s, £4 2s 6d, £3 18s, £2 10s.
