POLAND AS FOCH SEES IT. PARIS, May 20. General Foch has returned from Poland and Czecho-Slovakia. He states that the Polish army has all the old-time brilliant qualities and is steadily assimilating methods of discipline. Poland is a strong bulwark. Even it Russia wanted to attack Poland, she would not be dan gerous for some years, and it would be a long time before Germany ventured to attack an ally of France. The Czecho-Slovakian army was less brilliant than Poland's, but had great technical knowledge. The Czechs were carefully watching Hungary. He did not think they were wrong.
