RESIGNATION

MR. BONAR LAW RELINQUISHES PREMIERSHIP ACTS UPON MEDICAL ADVICE UNIVERSAL SURPRISE AND SORROW As Mr Bonar Law’s unexpected return to London presaged, the British Premier has tendered his resignation to the King, who has regretfully accepted it. The ill-health which has made the resignation necessary is universally deplored, and tributes to Mr Bonar Law’s worth as man and statesman are paid by the press. Naturally, political clubs in London are buzzing with rumours and speculations as to Mr Bonar Law’s successor. The names most frequently mentioned are those of Lord Curzon (Foreign Secretary) and Mr Stanley Baldwin (Chancellor of the Exchequer).
