MY FIRST PROPOSAL
Three boys in particular used to .••all on me pretty steady Two of them vere the regular .sort of young men that most all girls like. But the other one! He used tn calf up and tell me that his mother said he might come over to see me. Then when he’d cone (I couldn't keep him away all of the Vme) he would tell me about the things his mother had let him do and what she had said about every move he made. Ho tried making love to me by telling me the things lie had told bis mother about me. One evening he called and said that he had something very special to tell me. More out of cuiiosity than anything else I said all right. He reviewed in detail everything he bad told his mother about me and what she had said. Then the final Mow! She had told him to ask me to marry him. The poor thing was serious about it that I am afraid I shocked him beyond all recovery by laughing. 1 shouldn’t have done it, I know; it isn’t right for a girl tc de a thing like that but I just couldn’t help it. For once he showed a little spark of manhood. He got mad and storm :d out of the house.
