STAGE TALK

ENTERTAINMENT RECORD The versatile Skipper Francis is still proving his ability to entertain in the Dominion of New Zealand. A few days back he was scheduled to appear at the New Kosy Theatre, Mount Albert, for a 15-minute turn, but just when be went off the stage at 8.20 all the lights went out, so the Skipper kept them going until the interval with his latest, composition, “One Week of .Love,” and also with variations on the steel guitar. No lights having appeared after the interval, the Skipper boldly got up and told a few stories, playing various musical instruments, and altogether during the evening sang 17 songs and gave seven recitations. A one-man turn for two hours must be pretty near a record.
