AMUSEMENTS, MEETINGS, ETC.
“FLESH AND BLOOD” AND “ WINGS OF PRIDE” MAKE STRONG BILL. An excellent programme was presented at His Majesty's Theatre last night, and will be repeated this afternoon, commencing at 2.15, and tonight at 7.45. The programme opens with a most interesting number of the Gaumont Graphic. A smart amusing Christie Comedy, “Fair Enough,” follows, and the remainder of the first part is occupied by the Selznlck feature, “Wings of Pride,” a powerful drama of political intrigue. Modern society life with a colourful romance running through it. Olive Tell is the featured player, and she is excellent throughout. It is a most interesting and holding story. The feature after the interval is a “First National” production of a verv high standard. “Flesh and Blood” is a most unusual picture, boldly original, with a new plot. The main theme is a sacrifice o-f a father for his daughter, but there is a charming love story as well. The actins is as good as the screen has ever given. Lou Chaney, as the crippled father, is wonderful in his intensitv and passion. Edith Roberts, Jack Mulhall, Noah Beery, and in fact al) in the cast are excellent indeed. The scenes are lavishly complete, and the scenes of Chinatown are fascinating. Scats should be booked for to-night at Upton’s till noon, then at the theatre, only ’phone, No. 863. LASZELO SCHWARTZ.
