THE MELBOURNE SENSATION

MOTORIST’S PREDICAMENT £5OO REWARD OFFERED. MELBOURNE, May 17. In connection with the daring robbery of £.2750 from the Spencer Street railway office, a man named Daniels states that he motored one man to the Spencer Street station, which he entered. While waiting another man appeared and said, “Keep your engine going, and when a man comes out go for your life or you will get your brains blown out.” The other man returned with a bag, jumped in, and said, pointing a revolver at Daniels: “Go for your life.” After being driven a considerable distance the man left the car, which he then drove home. The Railway Commissioners are offering a reward of £.500 for conviction of the robbers.
