TINNED MEAT FOR THE ARMY

CONTRACT STILL OPEN. Received May 16, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, May 15. Tn reference to Mr Bruce’s comments, it is understood the army tinned meat contract has not yet concluded. Air Fuller says Mr Bruce is apparently misinformed. Air Fuller is negotiating to obtain at least a portion of the contract. The War Office has shewn every desire to help Australia and kept the matter specially open. There is still hope that the details will be arranged so that Australia will secure a portion of the contract —a small experimental shipment.
