PARAMOUNT PICTURES. “WHILE SATAN SLEEPS.” “A man’s fight with himself” is the best description of the theme of the latest Paramount picture, “While Satan Sleeps,” which will be shown to-night at the Municipal Opera House. To fight with a material enemy is easy, but to battle with one’s own conscience and best the evil influence at work in one’s self, is a scrap that will put a man to the test as nothing else can. That is the kind of role given Jack Holt in this wonderful picture. The setting represents the rectory in a small western mining town, which has been furnished by the parishoners, and Jack Holt has the unusual part of a Fighting Parson Ito play. He is not actually a parson in the story, for he only assumes that disguise to safely spy out a little town which he and his pal plan to rob. But even at that, there is no disguise in the way he fights. He fights not only his enemies, but wages a terrific battle for the regeneration of his own soul. Which is all by way of saying that the picture is one long punch from beginning to end, and that it teems with heart interest. A matinee will be held this afternoon, at 2.30. Box plan at Messrs H. I. Jones and Sons, Ltd.
