CAUGHT RED-HANDED
ARMED MAN CHARGED WITH THEFT. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, March 10. Yesterday the police arrested a man named William Mcßain, for whom they have been searching for some time in connection with the theft of goods from the Wellington Woollen Company. It will be remembered that the secretary’s motor car was stolen from a passageway in which it had been left. It was found later at Island Bay in the care of the New Zealand Express Company. The police found two neat packages of goods ready to be sent to certain addresses. The contents of the packages proved to be the missing goods and more which had not been reported. The total value of them is said to be over £2OO. In possession of Mcßain, when he was arrested, was found a loaded revolver.
McBAIN REMANDED. WELLINGTON, March 10. Mcßain was remanded until Wednesday, the Magistrate refusing bail.
