TURAKINA CALEDONIAN SPORTS.
ON SATURDAY NEXT.
The annual gathering of the Turakina Caledonian Society will be held in Mr Alex. McDonald’s paddock at Turakina to-morrow (Saturday), commencing a” 11 a.in. The Wanganui HighlancLPipe Band, under Pipe-major ’Thomson, will be in attendance, and will render a number of stirring Scotch airs. The programme will include all the piping and dancing events that usually appear on a Caledonian Society’s programme, and the Highland Fling ehampionship of New Zealand for girls under 18 years.z- In addition there will be dancing competitions for local girl* and boys, field games, horse jumping competitions, and thread the needle
The Turakina ladies will provide an excellent luncheon at two shillings per head. Ip the evening a grand Caledonian concert will be held in the Turakina Town Hall
