THE GRAND. COMPLETE CHANGE TO-DAY. SHIRLEY MASON IN “THE NEW TEACHER.’’ Commencing at to-day’s double session matinee at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. the management o£ The Grand will introduce a big holiday programme headed bv dainty Shirley Mason who appears in William Fox's latest comedy drama “The New Teacher.” This picture shows the little star in a ripple of smiles and a few heartburns, a peppy story of a girl who gave cupid the cold shoulder, who hated men. decided to take up a career, and of the poor boob who was too persistent in his love. It is claimed that this picture is the fastest comedy drama of the year. The supports will include the fifth chapter of “With Stanley in Africa,” a rattling good Sunshine Comedy entitled “Excuse Me Sheriff” which is a laugh raiser of the first order. Another picture which is sure to create interest will be "Vesuvius Conquered” which is said to be one of the most awe-inspiring pictures ever taken for the screen. Fox’s World’s News will show all the latest events of the year. NEXT WEEK’S ATTRACTIONS. On Christmas night, to-night’s programme will be repeated with the exception of “Stanley in Africa." On Boxing Day a special matinee -will be glSvenswith two big star features “The Four Just Men" from Edgar Wallace’s famous novel, and “The Unknown." starring Richard Talmadge. This picture is said to be the limit full of dare-devil stunts and bubbling over with romance, The usual good supports in comedy and interest films will provide entertainment for the festive season. The plans for evenings and matinees are now open at The Grand Theatre office. The usual popular prices will prevail. ’Phones 852 or 1152 may be used for securing seats to be claimed at theatre before 7.30 p.m. MOONLIGHT PROMENADE CONCERT. AT THE RACECOURSE. Something unique in the musical line will be provided next Thursday evening at the racecourse, when a musical promenade concert will be given by the Garrison Band and the Male Choir Hie Band will play the three test pieces, while the Choir will render a programme of selected events.
