DARGAVILLE JERSEY SHOW.
(Per Press Association.) DARGAVILLE, Oct. 23. The first Jersey Show held in the Dominion took place on the racecourse to-day and was a decided success. There were over 150 entries. The judges--Alessrs S. R. Lancaster (Palmerston North) purebreds; C. Stevens (Maungatapere) grades—were well pleased generally with the exhibits. They described the female classes as fit for any show in the Dominion. The bulls, with the exception of the champion, won a lot of chief prizes. Pedigree Classes —Champion bull, S. C. Colomore Williams; reserve, A. F. Edwards; cow, R. J. Clements; reserve, W. H. Fitness. Points prize: Pedigree, W. H. Fitness; grade, R. E. Clements. Mr. M. McLennan, president of the New Zealand Jersey Cattle Association, in presenting the prizes, congratulated the club on its enterprise, and expressed his surprise at the quality of the cattle, also the wonderful possibilities of the district for dairy produce.
