In the House of Represcaitatives, Mr. Winslow, after a cotoiference with President Harding, introduced a Bill to create a fact finding coal commission of nine members. According to Presidential recommendations. no Congressman interested in coal will be allowed to serve. The Commission’s tenure of office is one year, and expenditure is limited to half a million dollairs. It will investigate the ownership of mines, prices of coal, wages' con-

tracts and profits of mine operators and coal distribution. The commission will report and make recommendations by the New Y’ear. (

The strikers are endeavouring to secure a livitng wage for the maintenance of tire American standard of living, reasofnable working conditions and the right of organisations.
