TRAMWAYMEN’S PICNIC.

The Wanganui tramwaymen held their annual picnic on Good Friday at the Aramoho tea gardens. The weather in the morning was unfavourable, but did not prevent a good number from attending. The children were specially catered for, and they had a day out. “S long sports programme containing events for both young and old was got off, and this with other amusements combined to make up an enjoyable day. In the evening a smoke concert was held in the Druids’ Hall. As sports secretary, Mr George Miller had put in a lot of useful work which bore good fruit. Mr J. Anderson was a host in himself, and his activities and endeavours in giving the children a good time were most successful.

Below are given the results of the sports events. In this department principal duties were carried out by Mesrs T. Skelsey (handicapper), W. A. Veitch (judge), and R. Smith (steward). Following are the results of the various events:
