PARAMOUNT PICTURES. A SPLENDID PROGRAMME. Seating accommodation, alts the Opera House was absolutely unobtainable on Saturday night, and the great audience was well worthy of the splendid programme offered. There never was a funnier picture shown than “Now Or Never,” a regular side-splitter with Harold Lloyd doing wonders in a strenuous laughter campaign. It is good wholesome comedy, the humorous scenes being excruciatingly funny. Much has been written of Elsie Ferguson’s splendid work in the leading role of “Footlights,” the production being quite up to reports and in itself a very fascinating picture. It is an unusually thrilling and appealing theme and deals with an actress who makes a great impersonation. Miss Ferguson is seen as the actress in this picture, who to advance in her profession, sinks her identity for several years and impersonates a Russian stage celebrity. But ambition gives way when love enters her heart, and she finds contentment after a highly dramatic wooing. Quite a distinct feature of this picture is the wonderful dressing of the principal land other actresses, while the various scenes are laid in some of the most choice spots, with everything true to life and locality. 1 Gorgeous wardrobes are required of course In this inside tale of the life of the theatre, with the beautiful star in the gayest and most enjoyable role in her career. To-day at 2.30 p.m. and tonight at 7.45 will mark the two final screenings of this exceptional programme.

To-morrow (Tuesday) night, also two following nights, Wallace Reid will appear in “The Hell Diggers." On Friday Paramount’s give way to Ella Shields and her company, and on Saturday Peter B. Kyne’s popular novel, "Gappy Ricks,” forms the subject of an excellent picture.

THE GRAND SPECIAL EASTER ATTRACTION. “A MAN’S HOME ” Patrons of the Grand Theatre can look forward to an exceptional, treat, in motion pictures in the new programme to be presented to-day, when the star attraction will be Selznick’s latest production entitled “A Man’s Home,” which is claimed to be a great domestic drama right out of the ordinary rut. It was produced by Raplh Ince and written by Anna Steese Richardson and Edmund Breese. The various roles are depicted by Kathleen Williams. Harry Morey, Faire Binney, Matt. Moore, and Grace Valetine. These artists have all’starred in pictures, and as all appear in the cast of “A Man’s Home,” the result is a wonderful achievement. Harry T. Morey who appears as The Man, as star of the Vitagraph Company, scored in Ihe Golden Goal,” “The Green God,” “The Man Who Won,” “The Darkest Hour,” and other photoplays and Kathlyn Williams, as the Wife played leading woman in the stage productions, “Mrs Dean’s Defence.” “The Man of the Hour.” “When We Were Twenty One,” She has also a long and varied career on the screen with principal productions. Matt Moore, as the Fiance* .appeared tn “Sahara,” “Getting Mary Married," “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,” and “The Dark Star.” The supporting programme will include two clever comedies, The International News. Selznick News, and an excellent Chester Scenic Study. Reserves for to-night should be secured early at The Grand Theatre, to avoid disappointment.
