WANGANUI EMPLOYERS’ ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. There was a very large attendance at tlie annual meeting of the Wanganui Employers’ Association last evening, the big rbom in the Jockey Club’s buildings being well filled. The president, Mr A. G. Bignell was in the chair, and Mr T. Shailer Weston among those present. The business was of a routine nature, the annual report being adopted and the following officers being elected : —President, Mr A. G. Bignell; vice-president, Mr Alf Willis; executive committee, Messrs Geo. Caiman, Jas. Murray, N. Meuli, C. J McCarthy, W. Dustin, Jas, Hodson. H. Hooker, T. E. Thomas, T. H. Lovegrove G. Bennett, E. Turner, A. E. Rankin, W. F. Therkleson, J. Patterson, G. F. Newsome, and R. G. McNiven.

A vote of thanks to the executive and to Mr Weekes (the secretary) was carried. Tlie chairman said the majority of the members of the executive rolled up at every meeting, and Mr Weekes’servioes were invaluable. Mr W. S. Dustin paid a fine tribute to the work of the secretary, who. he sa.d, was a great worker and a great organiser. The meeting decided that it be a recommendation to the incoming executive to adequately recompense him.
