RAILWAY WORKING ACCOUNT.

SOUTH ISLAND STILL LOSING. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, March 9. The Railway Working Account for the period commencing April Ist, 1921, to February 4th, 1922, discloses that the total revenue from all lines in the Dominion amounted to £5 566,209 and the expenditure to £5.335.429, the credit balance being £230,780. Revenue from the North Island lines was £3,375,727 and expenditure £2,982,986 leaving a credit surplus of £392,741. A loss, however was shown on the South Island lines of £161,961, the expenditure being £2,352,443, «ind the revenue £2,190,482.
