PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, BULLS ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the congregation was held in Clifton Hall on Wednesday evening August 17th. There was a large attendance of members and friends. Mr. G. Ireland presided, and the meeting was opened with praise and prayer, followed by an anthem by the choir. The session report gave thanksgiving and praise to God for all His blessings during the year. Three members were transferred by certificate, and two joined by certificate, leaving the roll number at 59. Reference was made to the loss by death of Mr. E. G. McDermott, elder, and Mr. T. Flower, and expressions of sympathy were extended to their bereaved relatives. The session brought before the young people the important question of church membership, and urged them to Join for the strengthening of their own faith and convictions, and to strengthen the fellowship and power of the church in the district, and to advance the cause of Christ’s Kingdom.

The balance sheet which was read by Mr. J. H. Gray showed a total income of £375 for the year, the collections in Bulls being £54 of an increase over the previous year, the church being free of debt with a credit balance on hand. Miss N. Wilson then read the Sunday-school report, which showed that good work had been done in Bulls and Parewanui, the roll numbers being Bulls 40, Parewanui 24. Miss Gladys Harper read the report of the junior Bible class which was started during the year under ’.he leadership of Miss N. Wilson. The class is mixed, con- • sisting of 8 girls and 5 boys and meets in Clifton Hal! on Sunday at 2 p.m. Reports were also read from the senior Bible-class, Ladies’ Guild, Busy Bees, and Maori Mission Birthday League. The Busy Bees reported that they had drawn £24 at their sale, and had donated £lO to the Nuhaku Hospital, and £lO to Nurse Doull’s work. The Birthday League sent £6/10/- to Maori Missions. Mr. Ireland in a short address, thanked all the friends for their united help during the year, and for their increased liberality towards th funds of the Church. He said it was gratifying to have increased attendances and a good balance-sheet, but the most important side of the Church work was the spiritual, and unless God’s people were being built up in their Christian faith and life, and others being brought to a knowledge of Christ the church was failing in its great mission. He called upon all to continue their united efforts and prayers during the coming year. Special votes of thanks were passed to Miss Wilson and all the Sunday School teachers, to Miss L. Dalziell, Mrs Scott Carnarvon and Mr Loche, and Mrs McKenzie, P.irewanui, for officiating as organists; to Mr Gray as Choir-master and Church Treasurer; to Mr McMinn as secretary; to Miss L. Dalziell for supplying the flowers for the church, and to Mr L. McDermott for the use of his horse. Mrs Dempsey’s name was added to the Board of Managers. Musical items were contributed by the following:—Anthems by the Choir; Duet, Miss T. Brown and Mr. R. McSkimming; Solo, Miss Dalziell of Wanganui; Recitations, Miss Bessie Wicks, Mr R. McMinn proposed a vote of thanks to all who had helped with the programme, and to the lad i for providing the supper.
