BULLS TENNIS CLUB.
ANNUAL BALL ON JULY 13. A very well-attended meeting of members of the Bulls Tennis Club was held in the Y.M.C. Hall on Friday evening, when it was decided to hold the annual ball in Bulls Town Hall on July 13 th. All present were placed on the committee, with power to add to their number all other members willing to help, and the following arrangements were decided on:— Messrs Nottle and Mackay were appointed joint secretaries. Decorations to be left to Mr Reader, who will select four helpers endowed with the artistic eye. Messrs Teague, Dwyer, Cornwall and Ransom to be asked to take charge of the doors. Messrs A. Green, Clemance, Danks, Ralfe, and Reader were appointed M.’sC. Edwards' orchestra is to be engaged. It was decided to charge: Double tickets, .7/6; extra lady, 3/6; and gentlemen, 5/. A comprehensive advertising scheme was outlined to which the joint secretaries will give effect. Judging from the enthusiasm shown by all present, and the numerous promises of support from members unable to attend the meeting, the coming bail bids fair to outrival all the previous successful efforts of the club in that direction, and will certainly be the dancing event of the season in Bulls. Some general business of the club was also put before the meeting. It. was decided to close the playing season as from the Ist June to the Ist of September; ladder positions to remain stationary during the interval This does not affect the challenge doubles, which may be played as usual. The committee were requested to have the volley board shifted level the ground at the ends of the courts, and have the fences repaired, and also to consider having the courts top-dressed before next season. Satisfaction was expressed that the Domain Board had fenced oft the portion of the Domain occupied by the courts. Jt was thought thaL the club should plant a few trees and shrubs. On the motion of Miss Goebel, seconded by Miss King, it was decided to leave the matter of beautifying the grounds in the hands of Mr Edwards. A vote of thaiiks to Mr Nottle, who had capably occupied the chair, terminated the meeting.
