The Corinthic sailed from Lyttelton for London at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Pacific Steam Navigation Company has purchased the Marathon and re-christened her the Oruba. S.S. Rarawa. Messrs Johnston and Co. Ltd., advise that owing to Anzac Day the 25th April being a Public holiday, the departure of s.s. Rarawa will be delayed until Tuesday, 26th April, at 8 p.m. She will leave New Plymouth Breakwater on Wednesday, 27th April, at 4 p.m. Will intending passengers please note. The Malaita, which sailed last week for Westport, leaves there shortly for Newcastle, whence she will return to Wanganui with coal. The Canterbury Shipping Company’s steamer Storm got away on Saturday night, and the Breeze arrived yesterday morning. The Remuera arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from London and Southampton, and berthed shortly after noon at the King’s Wharf. She left Southampton on March 5 and ran into bad weather. Half-way across the Atlantic a full gale and high seas were encountered. The Remuera reached Newport News on March 20, and left that port two days later. She arrived at Colon on March 28, and the following evening left Balboa. On April 10 a call was made at Pitcairn Island, where the vessel remained for two hours. The voyage across the Pacific was made in fine weather.
