JAPANESE ENTRENCHING.
PEKIN, Jan. 5. According to Harbin advices the .Japanese are hastily entrenching at Nikolaevsk as a precautionary measure against the fdvance of tho Bolshevik regulars, who are concentrating at Khabarovsk, and declare it is their intention to drive the Japanese from the country, on the ground that they are a menace to the Russian proletariat. Propagandists are endeavouring to foment revolution amongst coolies at Harbin.
