Received Nov. 9, 10.15 p.m. SYDNEY, Nov. 9. In the Assembly, Mr. Long delivered the Budget speech. He stated that the year opened with a deficit of £1,804,000. The estimated revenue for the present year would amount to £34,011,000 and the expenditure to £33,982,000. New taxation, which was estimated to yield £2,388,000, would be imposed, which would reduce the total deficit to £1,775,000. New taxation foreshadowed in the Budget speech includes increases in stamp and probaie duties; increasing the amount of broken money collected from the totalisator; increased harbour and tonnage rates for coastal ports; and increased Sydney Harbour rates.
