WANGANUI SHOW.
NOVEMBER 17 AND 18. ENTRIES CLOSE TO-MORROW - EVENING. Keen interest is being evinced in the Wanganui Agricultural Association's annual Show, which will be held on the Racecourse on November 17th and 18th, and for which entries close with the secretary, Mr F. G. Seddon, at the Association’s office, King’s Chambers (Maria Place) ou Saturday, November 6. x Schedules, with all information contained, may be had on application to the secretary. The cattle section includes competitive classes for Shorthorns, Aberdeen Angus, Hereford®, Friesians, Ayrshires, Jerseys, and Milking Shorthorns. The sheep section includes classes for Lincolns, Corriedales, Ryelands, English Leicesters, Border Leicesters, Romney Marsh, Southdowns, Shropshire Downs, and farmers’ classes. Horse and pig classes are also well catered for. There will be the usual classes for fat sheep and fat cattle, and the special prizes which go with these classes, i-.cluding the New Zealand Refrigerating Company's handsome challenge cups, should result in spirited competition. Home industries will be one of thhe big attractions, and there will be classes for returned soldiers, produce, cooking, schools, native classes, needlework, art and technical and schools classes. Weight-guessing and amateur judging will also be on. the programme.
The big attraction for the second day of the show—People’s Day—will be the ring events. The outstanding event is the West Coast Champion Hunters’ Competition, carrying prizes of £7O, £2O, and £lO. This liberal prize money should be the means of bringing the best hunters in the Dominion together.
The Wanganui Can.ne Society's Show will be held in conjunction with the big show.
