VICTORIA v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Received November 2, 1.30 a.m. ADELAIDE, Nov. 1. Victoria, in their first innings made 639—Ransford 93, Armstrong 63, Ryder 127, Lampard 65. South Australia in their second innings, have lost 4 wickets for 82—Pellew 43, A. Smith 18. The weather was fine and the wicket fast- The Victorians’ battingrthough sound and punishing, was more on the careful than the spectacular side, evidently playing for averages, with one eye on the scoring board and the other on the selectors of the Australian eleven.
