ALLEGED CATTLE-STEALING.

(Per Press Association.) TAURANGA, Nov. 1. At a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court to-day Alfred Stewart was charged with stealing a cow and calf, valued at £l2, the property of a native of Papamoa. After an all-day hearing accused pleaded not guilty, reserved his defence, and was committed for trial at the next sitting of the Supreme Court in Auckland. Bail was allowed, self in £2OO and two sureties of £lOO each, or one of £2OO.
