I They were advised to attend as it [would show the public their condition. Employers generally are avoiding Victoria Cross winners, I thinking psychology unfits them for j civil employment. V.C.'s AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE. [MOST REMARKABLE GATHERING I Received June 27, 11.30 p.m. LONDON, June-215.' [ A most remarkable gathering*. of [heroes assembled at Buckingham [Palace this afternoon on the occasion :of the King and Queen entertaining I’2o Victoria Cross men and near relatives at a garden party. Great crowds cheered the guests as they marched to the Palace headed by Sir Dighton Probyn, the oldest V.C. Those unable to walk were accomI modated in motor-cars and were [given an especially warm reception. [Their Majesties and the Royal family i inspected the gathering and subse- [ quently each was personally presented.
