SHORTAGE OF COAL
THE EVERLASTING TROUBLE; (Per Pres? Association.) NAPIER, January 30. \ There had been only one disquiet* ing feature during the year,” said Mr. F. Logan at the annual meet* ing of the Napier Gas Company, ‘‘viz., that was the everlasting trouble to get coal, a state of affairs* entirely due to the ‘go-slow’ policy ot< the miners. All gas works werei being hold up and the attitude of the miners was paralysing the whole trade of the Dominion.” Mr. Logan hoped better relations between miners and mine owners would soon be established, and, in view of the winter not being far away, something must be done. “It is not for us to suggest,” Mr. Logan concluded, “but the present state of affairs must be remedied. The country looks to the Government to do some thing in the matter.”
