Messrs E. T. W. Maclaurin (Web lington). H. McArtney (Wanganui). A. G. Petersen (Napier), and W Rose (Napier) have been .appointed officers under the Immigration striction Act. ’j Mrs Greig, who has been assistant librarian at the Cosmopolitan Club has resigned in order to join Mi Stanley Read’s office staff. At a representative gathering yes terday afternoon a presentation was made to Mr W. A. Veitch, M.P., in recognition of his public services on behalf of Wanganui and district The presentation was made by Mi H. Duigan, who spoke in eulogistic vein and referred to the high esteem in which the member for the district was held. Mr Veitch suitably replied.
