ENTERTAINMENT IN SYDa Y. SYDNEY, Jan. 22. Th<‘ Finance Committee discussed a proposal to vote £'sooo to entertain the Prince of Wales Some aidermen considered the proposed sum miserly compared with what Melbourne was doing. One of the Labour representative’s opposition to voting any of the ratepayers’ mon y tor the purpose was so strongly expressed that it eventually led to his being conducted out of the House.- No decision was reached. MELBOURNE VOTES £lO.OOO. MELBOURNE. Jan. 22. The City Council voted £lO,OOO to cover the expenses of the city’s entertainment of the Prince of Wales.
