SPRING SHOW OPENS TO-DAY.

The Wanganui Horticultural Scs ciety's Spring 3how will be opened at" the Drill Hall this afternoon at 2 o'clock by, the' president, Mr W, J. | Treadwell. There will be a magnificent collection of floral exhibits . which will well repay seeing. A special class tor best novelty cu>,. flower should be a .great attraction. fo:- which a prize of £1 is given bj Mrs E. L. M. Whitet. .;.'; The rose bowl presented by Mi W. J. Treaclwell is on exhibition ai_ Purser's, Ltd. The Garrison Band, under Bandmaster Trussell, will play selections at the Drill Hall this evening to assist the Show, and Moore's orchestra of twelve players will assist inside. MemLers and friends are especially requested to send donations of cut flowers, vegetables, and produce for [the selling stails, and to assist the i tea-room with ca.kes, etc. All exhibits must be at the Drill Hall between S and 11 a.m. to-day in time for judging. There will be a weight guessing competition, a live sheep being kind-' !ly donated by Mr George Phillips, of I the No. 2 Line. «
