The Royal Commission on Awards tT> Inventors' has reported regarding tbj various--chums in respect to tanks. The report recoids. that it was primarily <me to Mr Winston Churchill that the general idea, was put. into practice. The report Attributes the principal credit of the dtfignlng and the production of tanks to Sir William Tritton and Major AVilson. t.> whom £15,000 sterling jointly has been awarded. Major-General Swinto ri has been awarded £1000. The report recognises the still greater value or his work of the advocacy"of the use of tarik^; for which a pecuniary award was inappropriate. Another claimant was awarded £1000 also, and two £500 each. Some claimants were disqualified bo-San** their investigations were within %he scope of iheir duties.
