The House of Commons, by 169 to 56, rejected Mr J. Thomas's motion to introduce a Bill empowering the King to accept the surrender of peerages.
Lord Beatty's reported decision not to publish the official Jutland account is now denied.
Professor Lefroy, following experiments, now announces that he has discovered four mortal enemies of the blowfly, namely a maggot which devours its maggots; a minute fly whose larvae preys on maggots in the chrysalis; and a waspish fly which eats the maggots of the ordinary fly, which eats the blowfly. The Labour censure motion was defeated by 254 to 59. The Chester-le-Street byelcction Jresutel: —Lawson (Labour) 17,838, Gilmour (National Democrat) 5313. The Treasury has printed large stocks of 5/- and 2/6 notes, but has not decided whether the notes shall be issued. BERLIN, November 28.
