MR. GLENN'S SUCCESSFUL;
CAMPAIGN,
Mr W. S. Glenn, the official Reform candidate for the Rangitikei seat, returned to Wanganui yesterday after a week's campaigning o£ a most strenuous description. H« spoke at 11 places in six days, be* sides holding committee and other meetings and doing much pioneering work. The result of the week's operations is decidedly cheering. At every place save Bennett's Siding (where heavy''rain interfered "with the attendance) he. spoke to large audiences, who accorded him enthustic receptions. At Taihape -on Friday evening Mr Glenn addressed the biggest political meeting held there this year. The chair was occupied by the Mayor (Mr Joblin). The Opposition tried to carry a noconfidence vste, but were counted out, and on the .motion of Mr E. Spooner, seconded by Mr J. Wetfb, Mr Glenn was accorded a hearty vote of thanks amidst cheers for tfie Reform Party. ;; At Utiku on Saturday night the biggest political meeting ever he)d inr that town took place. Mr Glenn had a good hearing, and at the conclusion a vote of thanks, proposed by Mr J. Gilchrist, was carried. ' Other were held at the following places during the week:— Wainui, Moawhango, Pukeokahu, Bennett's Sfding, Mataroa, Koeke, Nicholson's and Torere. ; OKOIA TO-NIGHT. r Mr Glenn will address the electors of Okoia this evening, and tomorrow evening he will speak at the Durie Hill School. Mr W. Meldrum, Opposition candidate, speaks in the Durie Hill School this evening, and will be followed by the Government candidate (Mr Glenn) to-morrow evening.
