• A gathering of Wa'na Wazias, 300 strong, attacked a.* reconnoitring party under Manghi and Liini on October oth. The casualties were 2 9 killed or missing, including one British officer. The enemy lost heavily.

A column from Ivawi bridge, on the 6th, engaged the same party, then estimated to be 6,00 strong, near Manghi. It first dro^e the enemy into the hills, but later apparently fell into an ambush.,. The column was only able to reach Kaur bridge after heavy fighting.!; The casualties are believed to have been approximately eighty, 'including two British and one Indian medical officer. A fresh column %ith guns proceeded to Manghi on October 8 th.
