GASSING FATHER NEPTUNE.

Two hundred thousand poison gas shells and some hundreds of containers full of the deadly stuff have just been sent to Davy Jones's Locker. They had been sent to France i'rom the war factories of the United States, but, owHig to the signing of the armistice, were never used.

These shells and drums were filled vith mustard gas and cliloropicrin, both of which iire useless for any purpose save killing people. Consequently, when ihe ntitluorities found that the chemical effect of the gases on thuir metal containers was such that if tlu\> were kept much longer they would undoubtedly leak, they made haste to rid of them

The gas was taken about 1.00 miles out to sea and shot overboard. It is understood that all the gas made i'or the United States troops will >be disposed of in this manner.
