SPRING FLOWERS.

HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY'S

SHOW.

A magnificent display will be made at the Wanganui Horticultural Society's Spring Show, which will take place at the Christ Church Schoolroom to-morrow and Thursday.

The opening ceremony will take place at 1.30 to-morrow, when the president, Mr W. J. Treadwell, will officiate. A fine display of New Zealand and Australian flora will be of interest, and the opportunity to the ladies for displaying their individual ideas. The table decoration will be judged by popular vote. A good entertainment programme will be provideded for each evening, the contributors being Misses W. and E. Bignell, and Messrs Hoare, C. Jensen, and J. Aitken, junr-

Afternoon team will be under the management of Mesdames (Dr.) Wall ana (Dr.) P. Marshall on the first day, and Mrs E. J. Walker on the second day. Miss J. Marshall is having a miscellaneous stall to assist the funds of the newly-formed society, and donations of saleable gifts in the form of edibles, flower and household requisites, will be appreciated. The judges for the Show are Mesdames Lovell (Hawera), Webb-Jones (Gonville), and Mr Shailer (Palmerston North.) Flowerlovers are asked to support the Show by becoming members.

Good entries have been received but more will be welcomed. Entries will close at. 8 o'clock this evening at Rice and Coy.'s. telephone 681.
